Save
The
Save
category contains options related to how files are saved. fi
One of the most important options is how often the auto recover
information for fi les is automatically saved. The user can also specify fi
where the auto recover information will be saved. The auto recover
feature is used to restore the fi le if the application or system crashes. fi
Set the save time to as much work as you are willing to redo. If you are
willing to redo 30 minutes of work, this can be the time interval.
This category also provides options for the default file format and fi
the default location of fi les. The location of files fi is the folder that will fi
be displayed when opening or saving a file for the first fi time when the fi
application is launched. It is common to set this to a project folder.
Display
The
Display
category is unique to Microsoft Word. The options in this
category set how the document will be shown on the screen and when
printed. There are options for showing white space and how hidden
characters should appear. For example, the user can decide to show hard
returns (paragraph marks), tabs, and text anchors. Options for printing
include printing drawings, background colors, properties, and hidden text.
Resetting Defaults
If changes are made to the default option settings, each can be
reversed by simply changing the setting back to the default. This must
be done one at a time. However, if the ribbon has been customized, all
